On the 15th December 2009 the first Mass was celebrated in the Little Company of Mary Heritage Centre by Fr. Robbie Callaghan. It was a very moving occasion; the Sisters from the other LCM Communities in Nottingham were present. Fr. Robbie gave each Sister a card with the following quote on it from Mary Potter’s writings:
“Shall I tell you what I see in the future? Mary wrote to her Director early in 1875. God’s people with greater love worshipping the Precious Blood, the price of their salvation, the Blood shed for them on Calvary.
I would like to say that this devotion will rise in the Sanctuary of the Heart of Mary and spread throughout the Church.
Great will be the rejoicing of the Saints, great joy will be given to the Angels, who will, through it, rejoice over more sinners doing penance; wonderful help will it be in this time of need to the Church, and immense relief and succour to the suffering souls in purgatory.”
Mary Potter herself would not stay in any of the Convents if the Blessed Sacrament was not reserved there, so the Sisters are following in her footsteps now that they have the Lord with them in the Tabernacle in their prayer room, a very sacred place.
Great progress is being made in the exhibition part of the Centre several of the graphic panels have been mounted and the shape of the rooms in Centre is taking shape, particularly the rooms depicting Mary’s birth and childhood; home duties and engagement and the part that is going to create the Mystical Experiences that Mary Potter had.
All the filming and interviews has now been done all over the world and these are now in the process of being collated for the interactive sections, which will be the tree and the globe in the Legacy room and Little Company of Mary all over the world.
We are now counting down the days to the opening of the Little Company of Mary Heritage Centre - 48 days.
