X - Jesus Is Stripped Of His Garments

The way of Jesus led to humiliation and to shame. Christ our leader has suffered shame, humiliations of all kinds. So though our human nature shrinks, the grace given by God surmounts it and we know it is a holy and wholesome thing to suffer for one who suffered for us.

Jesus help us in the hour when we may be called upon to suffer shame for love of our heavenly Father. He may see in our lives some resemblance to the son of his love. If we would lead our daily lives in union with the life of Jesus we must be put to shame and we must bear it bravely generously for Jesus.
